Pam Bailey is the co-founder of MoreThanOurCrimes.org and an active ReThink Justice participant. Her letter to the editor of the Washington Post was recently published, titled Opinion: Early release works for most offenders.
She wrote in response to an earlier article where the Post had written about and overly dramatized a re-offense by an individual who had been given early release from incarceration under the Incarceration Reduction Amendment Act. She argued that the Post ignored the successes of the 65 other DC citizens who gained early release under the new law. In that context, she highlighted the good work and successes of the individuals in particular: Anthony Petty, James Dunn and James Carpenter.
